About Dr. Hargrave

Dr Hargrave has been a pediatrician at Pediatric Associates of Austin for over 15 years and has served as the medical director for SportsSafe for over 5 years. Having raised 3 boys, Dr. Hargrave is very familiar with sports and sports-related injuries, and knows the importance of managing those injuries well. SportsSafe is very thankful to have him leading our team.

After graduating from Austin’s Westwood High School, Dr. Hargrave became a Texas A&M Aggie. He completed a bachelor’s program at Texas A&M University before going on to earn a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in pediatrics. His residency program placed him at both Ben Taub Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Today, Dr. Hargrave is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds a fellowship with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). In addition to being a fellow of the AAP, he also:

  • Holds membership in the Travis County Medical Society
  • Is an active member of the Texas Medical Association
  • Serves on the credentialing committees of the Seton Physician Hospital Network and Seton Hospital
  • Provides care to students of the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

In addition to these medical positions, Dr. Hargrave has had the honor of being recognized in Texas Monthly’s Super Doctors, Austin Monthly’s Best Doctors, and Best Doctors in America as one of the region’s leading pediatricians.

Dr. Hargrave enjoys spending time with his three boys, traveling, fishing, reading, and listening to music. He also has a great love for Legos and can probably build a Lego car faster than you.
