Meet Amber

Amber S. Mercer

MSN, APRN, CPNP

Amber Mercer, MSN, APRN, CPNP, is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to caring for children throughout Austin, Texas, and helping them safely enjoy an active lifestyle at SportsSafe. 

Originally from Houston, Texas, Amber grew up spending most of her summers volunteering at a family friends’ privately owned hospital. This is where she became fond of the nursing profession. Amber comes from a multi-generational family of devout Longhorn graduates, and to follow suit, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 from The University of Texas at Austin. She then received a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University in 2018, where she became a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Amber began her career as a Registered Nurse at Pediatric Associates of Austin, where she has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and care for all of the children and their families for the past six years. She is grateful to have worked with such knowledgeable, genuine providers, nurses, and staff during that time. She truly believes she has learned from the best and will continue to grow in order to provide the greatest care for the patients of Pediatric Associates of Austin and SportsSafe.

Amber looks forward to her spare time with family and friends. Her husband, Patrick, works as the Health and Wellness Director at Frost Insurance. With both of their careers being centered on health, they spend the majority of their time exercising, hiking, or spending time outside with their son and their dog. They also enjoy trying new recipes and local restaurants, traveling, and seeking out local Texas Country artists around Austin.
